Recent Home Purchase

I am so excited to announce that Mike (my boyfriend of almost 5 years) has purchased a home. We got the keys August 14th, and have been working tirelessly to clean up and fix up the home before we move in. It is a very cute 1,150 square foot ranch-style home, with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a 2-car garage and a HUGE backyard!

We are remodeling the bathrooms as we speak, doing the majority of it by ourselves (so stay tuned for a post about that with before and after pictures). The roof is in its final stages of being done; we were told it had a handful of years left, but we decided to replace it now and forget about it.

Next, new base boards and trim will be put in, and some fresh paint put up on the walls, followed by getting rid of all of the carpet and replacing it with new laminate flooring.

Our goal is to remodel the kitchen in the next 6-8 months. It is very outdated (line never been touched since the house was built in 1965), but still functional, so I can’t complain. Just a little clean up here and there so it will work for the time being.

The back yard will be just a constant work in progress. It is essentially a clean slate. We just pulled out a couple of shrubs and some small dead and/or dying trees. It is just so open! I love it. No real plans set in stone yet. But I will post more about it when the time comes.

Our final and biggest project we have planned is a complete overhaul of the master suite. Those plans are still in the works. When we begin that project, I will start an on-going post, with updates and pictures of everything that we are doing.

The one point I would like to make is that we plan on doing most of this work ourselves and with the help of friends and family. Mike is an electrician by trade and has many friends through out many different trades as well. We are so fortunate to have the support of our friends and family through this journey, and I couldn’t be more thankful!

Stay tuned for many build projects I have planned for our new house <3.
